The Scarab was connected with the Egyptian sun god Khepri who took the form of the beetle and pushed the sun over the horizon every single day. It has become a symbol of resilience, self-renewal and a reminder that the sun always rises and offers an opportunity for a new start.

More about The Scarab Beetle
So where did the Egyptians get their inspiration from for the scarab?

The dung beetle. The dung beetle pushing poop around. Rolling that poop around until it collects enough and gets really big. Big enough to bury and lay eggs in so that their offspring have something to eat when they hatch.

The lesson? The Egyptians were masters of seeing the beauty in e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g.

But more importantly, that you can draw power from the sh!t life throws at you, that you can nuture it, rise from it, that it creates opportunity for you, a new beginning. That you can survive, adapt, transform, surrender to change, and start all over again drawing on your inner strength.

So yeah. The dung beetle and its poop. Still beautiful.
